Mentoring For Enhanced ‘On the Job’ Performance



To facilitate the members to :

  • Assess the political aspects of mentoring.

  • Analyze the motivational effect.

  • Understand the Pygmalion effect.

  • Evaluate their own mentoring potential and abilities.

  • Analyze the mentoring function in terms of the organization’s "culture".

  • Identify the skills needed to be a mentor.

  • Pinpoint the important elements in the mentoring relationship.

  • Coach and counsel mentees effectively.


Topics included are :

  • What a mentor is and does.

  • Making the commitment to be a mentor.

  • Assessing your mentoring potential.

  • Drawing on your experience.

  • Cultivating a special relationship.

  • Building mutual trust, accountability and responsibility.

  • How to be a positive role model.

  • The mentoring process.

  • Matching the mentor to the mentee.

  • The ultimate team — mentor and mentee.

  • Facilitation of development of Personal Action Plan per participant.

By the end of the course the participants will be able to :

  • Decide whether they want to be a mentor.

  • Develop the paradigms and skills for mentoring.

  • Coach & Counsel team members for increased productivity.

  • Self assessment tools.

  • Facilitator led Lectures & discussions.


The learning event contents will be customized as per the learning application requirement of the customer organization. Consequently the duration of the program is likely to undergo some change.

Note : * An assignment of this nature will need to be customized to include the process of establishing Mentor and
            Mentee selection and spread over a period of time, deemed appropriate.
